About the Organization

The Sports Association of Persons with Disabilities was founded in 2017. We are a territorial Sports Association and as such we gather sports clubs whose goal is the development of sports for persons with disabilities (PSI). Club members and users of the association’s activities are people with different situations such as paraplegia, quadriplegia, paraparesis, blind and visually impaired, cerebral palsy, dystrophy, amputees, multiple sclerosis, developmental disabilities, autism, ADHD, deaf and hard of hearing. The total number of club members and activity users is 95. Our Association is dedicated to the development of PWD sports, which is realized through the inclusion of as many young people as possible in sports, their psycho-physical rehabilitation, then social reintegration and inclusion in society through acceptance of differences, equal opportunities and accessibility. The association is trying to interest younger people with disabilities to participate in educational activities as well. For the implementation of its activities, such as baskin (inclusive basketball), para-karate, swimming, motor workshop, psychomotor re-education, table tennis, the Association hired sports experts who have many years of experience in working with PWDs, and there are also sports experts who are and disabled people themselves.
